  1. I broke even on one trade and got bent over for the one I got into. Owed $17k it was worth $9k. I was young and ended up rolling it into a 48 month fleece. It basically let me pay the negative equity off month by month. Cost me $18k over the 4 years and when I turned it in I wiped my hands of the whole thing and vowed to NEVER AGAIN overpay, fleece, or have a car payment PERIOD. I'm all but student loans debt free and closing on my first BRAND NEW home this week.

  3. I was driving a Jaguar F Type v8 for a while, nice car but everything was expensive as sh*t, i make 60k a year still live with parents and have no kids. Got rid of the car and got a Toyota Tacoma instead. I cried a little but everything will be ok. Now i have more room and can actually go offroading.

  20. It's kind of a dark idea to get life insurance on your little kids. It makes sense to get insurance for yourself because if you die, at least your family is somewhat covered financially. But what do you need life insurance on your kids for? I'm not judging.

  26. I bought 3 new cars and I will never buy new again. Whenever the car I drive is ready for the junkyard, I will pay $5,000 for a good used car with cash on hand. By the time that car is ready for the junk, I will have the cash saved for the next good used car.

  27. I remember reading about how in either 2017 or 2016 we hit record car sales. Driving around I see tons of newer cars and I have always wondered how if the avg household income is around 50k and the avg car price people are paying is around 30k how people are affording these cars. There has to be some bubble like the housing market that’s gonna burst soon.

  29. The whole negative equity situation is only getting worse …pretty soon people will have more negative equity than the car is worth plus enough to buy another car

  30. Auto companies make all their money ripping people off on financing and the dealer makes their money on trade ins. If you walk in a dealer and want to buy a new vehicle cash no trade in, everyone will poo poo all over it because no one is making a dime off that sale.
