  3. Payday loan buildings popping up all over my town in Ohio…
Tennessee where Dave Ramsey is located, is also their location? Tennessee is not that bad and usually livable at $55,000/year… rent is not too expensive there.

  5. People who truly know me say I'm honest to a fault but some lady at one of those payday loan stores refused to hire me because she said I was lying about something in my interview. (I knew because my friend worked there which thankfully she no longer does, and she overheard a conversation about me.) Projection much? If anyone was shady in that situation it was her or the company. I only applied because I was in a bad place as far as employment. I'm actually glad she didn't hire me, knowing what I know now about those places. They are loan sharks, another friend says. I dodged a bullet but it still makes me angry that I was slandered. But of course I should expect that from a place like that.

  6. How is she going to take $2500 a month out of her budget and pay anything off and combined her and her husband make $55,000 and don't have a savings and he asked her to pay extra on her bills, and before that he said save $1,000. If she has kids it will be years before the $1,000 is saved.

  7. She should do whatever she can to borrow money from a bank or credit card and pay off the pay day loans asap. Either that or get them paid off by spending no money for 2 moths as Dave says. Or both.

  8. CO just passed a law that they can’t charge more than 30% interest… which is still high but better than 800%

  16. Arizona just passed a big raise for therapists. My agency gave everyone a big raise and I have been talking to other therapists. Most agencies are not passing the money for the therapists to the therapists. Some people started talking about asking for a raise and saying how much they could get paid elsewhere, but after an extremely brief discussion, it seems like they are satisfied feeling mildly discontented.
I am male and so far all of them are female.
Is this how we have a wage gap?

  23. This is the type of family that should have met Dave before they bought a house. As a home-owner, they probably already had a few emergencies, and went to payday loan for that. If they were renting, those "emergencies" wouldn't cost them a dime, and they'd call up their apartment's maintenance to get it fixed. Awful idea to buy a house when you live paycheck to paycheck and have no emergency fund.

  24. She can definitely whip up some serious cash if she sells some of their possessions on OfferUp/LetGo/FB Marketplace/Poshmark/eBay etc. I sold a bunch of electronics, books/DVDs, furniture, kitchen items, clothes, shoes and made like $2000 in 2 months. That can definitely help her get her payday loans paid off ASAP.
