  3. They are wasting time calling Dave Ramsey. They need to go to the store and buy a tent, because it's what they'll be living in.

  5. I don't think the cars and gas are the problem they have a business that is going in the red 1200 dollars a month. One or both of them need a paying job . Business needs put out of its misery.

  11. The guy probably needs his truck for his business and can't sell it or else he can't operate his business. He probably bought it new because he needed something reliable and so he's not going to sell his truck which is probably the biggest investment he made for his business to function. They need to cut costs somewhere else somehow, i.e their house/property/living expenses. Or his wife needs to work somewhere closer to home, or get a smaller, cheaper 2nd hand car for herself.

  12. Sime idea, sell both gas guzzlers and use the money to buy used cars. No car payment, save $250 in gas.

  13. Well. That was interesting.

  14. Honda Civic. Answer to all mpg problems while being a very high quality car with one of the best track records. If you want crazy good mpg, get 90s civic with a manual transmission. They get 35-40 mpg on average. And the 90s models are higher quality than 2000s

  17. Maryann's tone of voice went from happy to frustrated quicker than a rat can jump on a Cheetoh.

  18. There is a simple, non-Dave-approved answer to that question though: sit down and do the math. Apply the gas savings EXCLUSIVELY to paying off the car. If you pay it off in a year (or similarly short period) and if you have the discipline to do exactly that in real life, it's one of the better uses of debt I can imagine. Of course, it's clear this caller had no desire to do that much research.

  20. Some people complains because Dave too often screams “stupid” but in this case that actually could had been what that woman needed, instead he chose to be polite and simply say good bye to that stubborn woman…who now will go on her downwards spiral until she and her family would be totally broke and living on welfare….calling her “stupid”, offending her, forcing her to admit they are doing something wrong, maybe, just maybe, could save her but being polite won´t helped her at all.
